After two deeply successful editions of this retreat for existing Somatic Vocal Healing students, one thing is clear: this is a uniquely powerful space for this work.
For six full days, you are fully held. Practical worries fall away, you are nourished with delicious, healthy food, stay in a beautiful environment, and can place your full attention on your somatic vocal healing journey.
What makes this retreat especially impactful is the group field. Being together with like-minded people who already share the same inner language creates a deep sense of safety and resonance, allowing the work to unfold more gently and more deeply.
There is space for inner journeys, shared voice and movement, joy and play, quiet integration, ocean swims, and connections that often continue long after the retreat ends.

About the centre
Monte Velho
You’ll be staying at the pristine Monte Velho, a holistic learning center and sharing space perched on a hilltop, offering a deep connection to the surrounding natural beauty: the raw strength of the elements, breathtaking coastlines, and lush forests that make this place truly unique.
Located in the far south-west of Europe, where land gives way to the Atlantic, Monte Velho sits in a region shaped by wind, ocean, and wide open space. High cliffs overlook the sea, fresh ocean air fills the landscape, and the land carries stories of fishermen, sailors, pirates, and ancient voyages.
For nearly twenty years, Monte Velho has hosted retreats, teacher trainings, festivals, and holistic gatherings, offering a deeply grounded and supportive environment for inner work and connection.
Located in Portugal’s Algarve region, you can easily reach the retreat by flying into Lisbon or Faro, then continuing with a shared taxi or rental car.

When?
Arrival is on Sunday, April 5, 2026, between 4:30 PM and 6:00 PM. We’ll have dinner together at 6:30 PM, followed by an evening session. The retreat ends on Friday, April 10, 2026, after lunch.

"All-in" means that once you arrive, everything is provided for you: lodging, food, sessions, etc.

Twin room with private bathroom - You’re sharing a bathroom only with your roommate.
Twin room with shared bathroom - Two single beds and a bathroom shared with another double room. You’re sharing a bathroom with maximum 3 other people.

Jacob Vermeulen is a passionate pianist, singer, and composer whose life experiences inspired the development of the Somatic Vocal Healing method.
With over a decade of experience as a healer and teacher, he has guided thousands of students worldwide through profound inner healing using his innovative methodologies.
Jacob has led workshops and retreats across Europe and South Africa, serving a global clientele.
